What is Vaginal Rejuvenation?

Vaginal rejuvenation, vaginoplasty or vaginal tightening procedures are treatments to help improve vaginal dryness and looseness and associated problems such as painful sex, lack of lubrication and symptoms of urine leak.

For most patients, these are elective procedures, meaning they are not lifesaving, yet they may improve the quality of life for carefully selected patients.

Women's Health Services of Maryland offers surgical and non surgical vaginal rejuvenation treatment options and has performed hundreds of vaginal rejuvenation procedures with IntimaLase, IncontiLase, ProlapLase, ThermiVa, MonaLisa Touch® laser in Maryland. Our patients enjoy their lives with reduction and resolution of their stress incontinence symptoms as well as improvement of vaginal dryness, pain vaginal laxity syndromes.

Some of the different types of vaginal rejuvenation available at our clinic include:

Vaginoplasty

Vaginoplasty is a surgical procedure in which your doctor corrects abnormalities near the vaginal opening and tightens vaginal tissues. In doing so, you may notice increases in sexual gratification, more confidence, and restored, aesthetically pleasing vaginal contours.

Labiaplasty

Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that tightens and improves the appearance of labia majora and labia minora tissues, located right outside your vagina. The procedure helps reduce loose or sagging skin to make you feel comfortable and help you gain self-confidence.

Laser rejuvenation

During vaginal revitalization, your doctor uses laser energy to gently heat vaginal tissue, stimulate collagen production, and promote new cell growth. Laser rejuvenation tightens vaginal tissue and reduces vaginal dryness, pain with intercourse, and urinary incontinence.

What are the Benefits of Vaginal Rejuvenation?

Some of the main benefits of vaginal rejuvenation include:

  • Tighter vaginal tissue
  • Less loose or sagging skin
  • An aesthetically pleasing vagina
  • Improved sexual desire and function
  • Less vaginal dryness
  • Improvements in sexual function

How Does Vaginal Rejuvenation Work?

Vaginal rejuvenation with MonaLisa Touch® and FemSense PRP is a non-surgical method for vaginal rejuvenation.

We first apply fractional laser to the vaginal mucosal walls with an internal probe both inside and outside. This delivers laser energy internally and externally and helps improve collagen production in the vaginal mucosa. Once this step is done, this procedure will improve the internal vaginal area and improve the tissue texture of external vulva. This process also helps improve lubrication in the long run.

The second step involves application of purified plasma to the tissues.

Once these two steps are completed, the patients are able to go back to their daily life, usually without pain and minimal downtime.

IntimaLase is a new, non-surgical laser procedure to rejuvenate vaginal tissue and help improve women's sexual health. IntimaLase is effective for vulvar-vaginal atrophy as well as vaginal laxity as well ass stress incontinence. Vaginal atrophy is related to loss of natural estrogen production. Some women cannot or prefer not to take estrogen and sometimes hormones are ineffective. IntimaLase is effective at tightening the vaginal area or for vaginal changes after menopause. The IntimaLase procedure can also be performed during the IncontiLase treatment for urinary stress incontinence.

Vaginal laxity is common in women of any age who have had larger babies or multiple births. It can result in reduced sensation for both the woman and her partner. Excessive laxity may lead to reduced interest in intimacy and create stress in the relationship. IntimaLase tightens vaginal walls and increases collagen and elasticity to improve sensation and responsiveness. The IntimaLase procedure usually requires 3 treatments performed in our office about a month apart at a fraction of the cost of surgical treatment.

MonaLisa Touch® is a laser treatment for the vagina and vulva. It helps restore lubrication by stimulating collagen production after application of laser energy. FemSense PRP is a combination of laser treatment with plasma produced from your own blood to help improve the healing process after laser treatment. Growth factors concentrated in plasma help with the production of collagen after the laser treatment, which enhances the results of MonaLisa laser treatment.
ThermiVa® is a non-surgical treatment modality that uses radiofrequency energy to heat the inside vaginal tissue layers without damaging the outside skin. ThermiVa® repairs the vaginal tissue by increase collagen growth.

What is Non-Invasive Labia Reduction?

Non-invasive labia reductions uses laser treatment to make the labia (lips of the vagina) smaller or less noticeable and more proportionate with the rest of the vaginal area.

Success Rates of Vaginal Rejuvenation?

Vaginal rejuvenation is very successful. In Dr. Dinc’s experience, there is a “success” rate of over 90%, meaning that over 90% of patients have improved sexual gratification after recovering from the procedure.

Does Vaginal Rejuvenation Hurt? What should I expect during the procedure?

Initial treatment of the outside area (vulva) with lidocaine cream makes this treatment almost painless. Internal treatment is almost always painless. Dr. Dinc utilizes cooling air and nitrous oxide to reduce patient anxiety and increase comfort before and during the procedure. We know every patient is different, and we customize our treatments to our patients' specific needs.
There is minimal discomfort after the procedure, which is controlled by application of ice packs and ibuprofen for several days.

How Much Does Vaginal Rejuvenation Cost?
